About Harelands Farm

With an eye for detail and plenty to do during your stay, luxury holiday homes don't get much better

Harelands Farm is a four-bedroom luxury holiday home near Richmond, North Yorkshire. An ideal place to escape to the country with friends and family, a self-catering family-friendly holiday home doesn't get much better.

Sleeping up to 8 guests, this large holiday home is ideal for a group looking for high-end holiday accommodation. Step inside this Yorkshire holiday home to a mix of traditional and contemporary interiors that give a true feeling of luxury. High oak beams and exposed stonework, are combined with the latest technology as well as underfloor heating in parts of the property to make for a luxury stay in this country home.

There is a welcoming and well-proportioned farmhouse-style kitchen, stocked with everything you need. The kitchen is open plan with a spacious dining area. Seating 8 guests comfortably, there are panoramic views over the landscaped garden and the countryside beyond, as well as a large smart TV. Store your week's food in the pantry, make use of the terracotta wine rack & wine fridge, and chat while preparing meals on the stools by the breakfast bar.

Adjoining the kitchen is a study, which leads through to the sitting room. With warm richly coloured sofas, there is plenty of comfortable seating plus a large smart TV, perfect for movie nights or somewhere for the children to have their own space. A large French door opens straight onto the patio. On the other side of the kitchen you will find a second cosy living room with a large log burner. It is a perfect space for an evening curled in front of the fire with a glass of wine.

Bedrooms…

Upstairs, there are four uniquely designed bedrooms which look out over the garden. Each has stylish interiors and comfy super king-size beds that can be set up as doubles or as twin beds if preferred.

The spacious master bedroom, with its own smart TV and large balcony overlooking the lake, has a large en-suite bathroom. Relax in the roll-top bath, there's a large separate shower and his-and-hers sinks. This is an indulgent bathroom to retire to in the evening with candles and a good book.

The second en-suite bedroom with lovely rich dark green walls, has a bathroom with a shower. The third and fourth bedroom a both still spacious bedrooms with plenty of storage space. These share the tiled house bathroom at the top of the stairs, which features a bath and overhead shower.

Outside…

The private garden has a large patio terrace and the luxury style of this Yorkshire holiday home extends outside for those summer evenings. Enjoy al fresco dining using the gas BBQ and sunset drinks seated on the stylish outdoor furniture. There is a luxury jacuzzi hot tub to soak in whilst watching the stars after a day exploring the Yorkshire Dales. There is also a fantastic hideaway games room with table football, a dartboard, sound system, drinks fridge, and a fantastic bar to keep the whole group entertained, no matter what the weather.

Beyond the garden, guests will find a fishing lake with its own jetty. Relax and watch the plentiful surrounding wildlife, and you can fish for Carp and Tench (float or fly fishing).

This property is a perfect family-friendly home. The garden is enclosed and there are many varied walks to explore from your doorstep. For those searching for exclusive equine breaks, this can be horse-friendly accommodation by separate arrangement. With stabling, a large paddock, a tack room and a lunging pen, it is a perfect location for exploring the many horse trekking trails in the area.

Practicalities…

An exciting feature is the electric car charging facility recently installed. If you're looking to plug-in your hybrid, these are complimentary for guests to use. These Electric Vehicle Charging Points (EVCP) are just one more way you can recharge during a break at Harelands Farm.

There is wi-fi throughout the holiday home and ample parking. The kitchen has a fridge freezer, dishwasher, wine cooler and is well-equipped for that home from home experience. There's also a starter pack for the kitchen, fire, and washing machine and tumble dryer in the separate utility room. And of course, enjoy a locally sourced welcome hamper.

This house accommodates up to 8 guests plus two infants, and as a result is unable to accept day guests. A cot and a highchair are available on request. High-quality bed linen, towels, bathrobes, and a small selection of toiletries are included.

In the area…

While Harelands Farm is nestled in the stunning North Yorkshire countryside, there are plenty of places to explore on your doorstep. It is a 10-minute drive to Richmond and only 20 minutes from the beautiful Barnard Castle. For groceries head to Mainsgill Farm Shop or M&S Food at Scotch Corner, just over five minutes away. If you feel like some pampering on your stay, book our partner beauty therapists to visit the house, or head to Saks Hair and Beauty not far away at Sedbury Stables.

Only 1/2 a mile away is the excellent Bon Coeur Fine Wines, with a wide-ranging cellar and tasting nights. There are several good pubs with restaurants within a few miles. We recommend Wednesday burger night at The White Swan in Gilling West, 2 miles away, and The Black Bull in Melsonby is the local drinking pub.

In and around the local market towns are heritage sites to explore, weekly farmer's markets, and good cafes for a coffee after a spot of shopping. The Yorkshire Dales is just a short drive away; explore Malham Cove, Aysgarth Falls, and pretty towns like Hawes and Middleham. This area is perfect for all the family, making it also the ideal group catch-up home.
