STUDENT PRODUCTION AWARDS

The Capital Emmy Chapter of Nation Academy of Tv set Arts & Sciences (NATAS) holds

an open Telephone call for Entries for Student Product Awards every year.

Our purpose is to recognize outstanding educatee achievement in production by conferring awards of merit in the Affiliate's designated awards region. The presentation of these awards is intended to exist an incentive for the connected pursuit of excellence past those studying media and journalism and to focus public attention on outstanding cultural, educational, technological, amusement, news and informational achievements by undergraduate higher and/or high school students.

Congratulations to the 2020-2021 Educatee Production Award recipients!

They were announced on September 22nd by Adam Longo of WUSA9 during a Facebook live special event.

A crystal pillar will be awarded to the school and students responsible for the production will each receive a Student Production Certificate.

All College and Loftier School students attending a school located in Virginia, Maryland or Washington, DC are eligible.

The student Call for Entries is released each Spring along with the eligibility menstruum.

FACE Time WITH THE PROS

The Capital Emmy Affiliate has been hosting Face up Fourth dimension with the Pros for nigh two decades in the Washington, DC region. It is a unique opportunity for students interested in a career in the media

to connect directly with professionals in the field.

FaceTime with the Pros is traditionally held on a Saturday in early March at the

The Philip Merrill Higher of Journalism on the campus of the University of Maryland.

In 2021, Confront Time with the Pros opened up to a national audience afterward COVID-19 caused the event to go virtual.

Participants included students from across the land: Maryland, Montana, Utah, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, New Jersey, Minnesota, Missouri, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa, South Dakota, Due north Carolina, New York, Florida, and Washington, DC.

Educatee SCHOLARSHIPS

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) offers several national scholarships for students. In addition, the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter

(Uppercase Emmys) offers a regional scholarship.

Capital letter EMMY ® BETTY ENDICOTT SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is in accolade of Betty Endicott, the offset female news director in Washington, DC. NATAS is a not-profit organization dedicated to advancement in the television arts & sciences.

The application period usually begins in March with mid-Apr deadline.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited ii or four year college or graduate plan in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC

  • Be a full-time sophomore, junior or graduating senior with a alleged major in communications or broadcast journalism

  • Be a full-time graduate student in pursuit of an advanced degree in either communications or broadcast journalism

  • Have a GPA of three.0 or higher

  • Demonstrate an bent or interest in communication or broadcast journalism through coursework, extracurricular activities, internships, jobs and volunteer work

NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS

The National Academy of Goggle box Arts & Sciences offers several scholarships to

outstanding high schoolhouse seniors planning to pursue idiot box-related baccalaureate degrees.

Applications for national scholarships are usually open in March with mid-April deadline.

There is ane standard application for all scholarships. Students select which scholarship(s) they believe they qualify for and provide the same set of core materials for consideration. NATAS Trustees and officials with the National Scholarship Committee will review applications and creative works along with participation from Univision Communications Inc.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • School name, accost, and website are required and an advisor name, telephone, and email are optional.

  • GPA

  • One example of artistic work which includes the location and student'due south role. You as well have the selection to upload three video files and you may listing up to ten additional creative works or work experiences without video files.

  • Career Aspirations Essay (100-250 Words) Describe what you would like to do upon graduation from high school. Indicate which colleges or universities you would like to nourish and your reason for their selection.
